A strategy game strongly inspired by Dungeon Keeper, the cult classic from the nineties. Dungeons takes place in a fantasy world, but this time the roles are reversed and the player assumes the role of the bad guy who hunts a group of heroes. The protagonist is an evil lord who due to the conspiracy of his former fiancée becomes degraded. He must rebuild his position as the powerful dungeon keeper and in order to do so, he must complete a series of missions during which he builds more and more complicated labyrinths which serve as traps for famous heroes. The player commands a group of obedient goblins who build and arrange the dungeons whenever ordered. Inside the dungeons one can place various traps, false treasures, magic books and dangerous monsters. Once the labyrinth is ready, it passes the final test – heroes of dozens of classes are lured there. Dungeons offer three-dimensional environment and free camera which allows orientation in the surrounding area.

WarCraft: Orcs and Humans is an RTS set in a fantasy universe, and the debut game from Blizzard Entertainment (an American studio, previously going by the name Silicon & Synapse). The events of WarCraft: Orcs and Humans take place in a fantasy land of Azeroth, where the conflict between humans and orcs takes place. The players choose their side and attempt to conquer the other. Mechanics-wise, the game is somewhat reminiscent of Dune II by Westwood Studios, although here, the gameplay was supplemented with a number of new solutions. The main task of the player is to gather resources, develop the base, and produce new units to fight the enemy. For each side there are 12 missions, featuring some adventure elements, where, apart from defending their base and trying to destroy the enemies, the players will also have, for example, to level an enemy city, or go into the underworld to bring back fallen comrades.

A tactical RTS set in a fantasy realm, developed by Bungie Software, a seasoned developer present since 1991. The game, loosely inspired by the setting of Glen Cook's The Black Company series, lets us play the part of a commander of the Army of Light, leading our armies to battle the forces of darkness led by powerful sorcerers, the eponymous Fallen Lords. Unlike most typical real time strategy games, Myth: The Fallen Lords ignores the resource gathering aspect, as the gameplay focuses entirely on skirmishes with enemy troops. Moreover, with each successive victory the surviving warriors gain experience, becoming more powerful and allowing us to win the fight even against a seemingly overwhelming enemy force. An undisputed advantage of the production is its fully three dimensional environment and a physics engine, whereby the outcome of clashes is affected by various external factors, and most objects present on the map can be used in battle.

What’s interesting, the said production was released on PC in 2004, and 13 years later UIG Entertainment developed an enhanced edition which was released on PlayStation 4, as well.
