The story itself is about a young man who discovers a secret base during a mountain trip with his girlfriend. The base belongs to an organization that is planning to eliminate the president and take control over the United States. Once his girlfriend is kidnapped, the young hiker has to become a lean mean killing machine. Shadow Complex Remastered is a 2.5D platform game with an expansive storyline. The gameplay consists of exploring vast, semi-open levels, solving puzzles, and fighting enemies. The game also features a character progression system, allowing the players to pick up useful skills as the story progresses.

Apart from that, the expansion brings more types of terrain and delivers even authentic experience when it comes to battle damage and repairs of different units.
