Another installment in the series of racing games started in year 2003. For the past few years the franchise was developed by Nadeo Studio, the founders of the series, under the banner of Ubisoft. The general concepts of the gameplay are left unchanged and the objective is to complete wicked tracks, filled with various obstacles, ramps, barrels, and treacherous turns. Trackmania Turbo features 4 distinctive environments, including a tropical archipelago, a large stadium, a rocky canyon, and a hilly valley. Each of them offers different experience and requires a slightly different driving technique. In campaign mode there are about 200 tracks to complete, divided into 5 categories based on their difficulty level. There is also a multiplayer mode in which, in addition to the well known modes, Double Driver was added. This mode allows two different players to control a single vehicle. The game has also an editor traditional for the series, which allows creating new tracks.

To get to the bottom of the problem, the heroine embarks to explore the Planet, a living being representing her psyche. This unusual world is divided into two zones: neutral, consisting of the planet’s surface, and dark, known as the underworld, guarded by terrifying bosses. Fortunately, Divine is a powerful fighter with access to numerous abilities, enabling her to stay hidden from the Planet, as well as to defend herself in case of detection. Moreover, she can take on two forms: Nar (Rage), a battle form based on the fire element, and Son (Fear), a more restrained yet powerful personality that allows silent exploration. Red Goddess: Inner World employs colorful and detailed 2.5D graphics. The game was created thanks to a crowdfunding campaign that took place on Kickstarter, a popular crowdfunding network.

A 2D arcade game with platformer elements, and the debut of the Canadian indie developer Astro Base. During the gameplay we step into the shoes of one of the two operators of a small space station, and it is our task to defend it against consecutive waves of enemy attacks. The missions are played out in randomly generated locations, and the players need to navigate the corridors of the station in order to reach the various control consoles that are located inside them. These consoles will allow us to, e.g. activate the station’s engines, defensive systems and gun emplacements. The production has been designed with a co-op mode for two players in mind, and strict cooperation and coordination between both operators is required in order to achieve success. In cases where a second player is unavailable, they will be replaced by an AI player. One of the most distinguishable qualities of the Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime are the colorful, highly abstract 2D visuals and an old-school, electronic soundtrack.

H1Z1 takes place in an alternate world, 15 years after the discovery of the titular virus that caused a world-wide zombie epidemic. The few survivors fight for their lives, struggling against zombies, wild animals, and other surviving factions. During the game, players get the chance to build a shelter or even entire cities somewhere in the United States. An extensive crafting system also makes it possible to craft useful items from procured raw materials. On the technical side, H1Z1 uses a modernized version of the Forgelight engine which was previously used in Planetside 2 and EverQuest Next among others. The game uses the free-to-play model with micropayments for some additional features.

The second installment in a unique simulation game series, developed by an independent studio, Might and Delight. In contrast to the first installment, in which we played as a female badger, Shelter 2 gives us an opportunity to play as a pregnant female lynx. The game recreates the life of the species in its natural habitat. During the gameplay, the player has to ensure adequate conditions for the development of their offspring. One has to find a den, gather food and protect the offspring against natural threats. The gameplay is more complex this time, because different new elements were introduced, such as the stamina meter. Since the traits possessed by a lynx are different to those of a badgers, the gameplay mechanics are slightly different. Similarly to the first game, Shelter 2 greatly emphasizes the survival aspects and the bonds between the lynx and its offspring. The original "patchwork" graphics, based on somewhat old-fashioned vector models, were not changed.

The campaign is divided into two separate chapters, each one presenting a story of a different character. Some tales show only a year from the hero’s life, while others depict even decades. Because of this approach, the players can observe the conflict from multiple perspectives as well as learn the course of events and the stories of people participating in the war. The gameplay revolves around turn-based battles waged on 3D maps. During combat, the player commands a team comprising two heroes, each one featuring a unique set of skills and roles. As the story progresses, the character gains more experience and grows stronger.

A compilation of two games developed by an independent British studio, Puppy Games, now re-released on PlayStation consoles. The package contains Titan Attacks! and Revenge of the Titans – two titles previously released on PC in 2011 and 2012 respectively. The first game is a two-dimensional retro shooter, heavily inspired by the classic Space Invaders. We assume the role of a commander of the last tank on Earth, and our objective is to save the planet from invading hordes of aliens. Revenge of the Titans is a classic tower defense title – the player builds various defensive structures which are to repel continuous waves of attacking enemies. Both games return with a reworked interface, and are now running in 60 frames per second. As could be expected, the controls have been remapped to fit a console gamepad (or PS Vita buttons).

Gameplay features a modified version of classic chess and offers two game modes. In the classic mode, you choose one of the available races, fight, and gradually unlock new characters and abilities. In the Regicide mode, rules are slightly more complicated – during their turn, players can move, open fire at enemies and environment elements, and use a whole range of psionic powers. Attractive visuals use motion capture technology and feature characteristic elements of the Warhammer stylistics.

Candy Crush Soda Saga expands the ideas known from the previous installments of the series. The main objective of the game is, as always, to combine the elements found on the board into groups of at least three objects of the same type. However, this time, in addition to the candies, the game also features sodas. One of the main tasks is to use them to fill the levels. The core mechanics remain the same: player must connect colored water in the bottle with a candy that has the same color. The task must be completed within a limited number of moves. The less moves are used, the bigger the score. The game features colorful graphics similar to its predecessors.

The city is filled with cameras and patrols, so in order to succeed, you need to sneak, avoid raising suspicion, look for alternative paths, and hack various computer networks. Chatting with NPCs is also an efficient way of getting the job done – the characters dynamically react to the player’s actions.

Additionally, the Windows 8 version of the game was included with Halo: Master Chief Collection, just like Spartan Assault. This allows us to unlock additional content for the multiplayer.

A third person action-RPG combining the most important aspects of Japanese role-playing games with medieval atmosphere and elements of the steampunk subgenre. The game was created by Midgar - an independent French studio, mainly known for mobile apps. The action takes place in Heryon - a fantasy land whose inhabitants have come under the threat of an alien civilization capable of turning both humans and animals into metal monsters. The player assumes the role of a young farmer by the name of Daryon, who is willing to confront the danger. The story is set in three main locations, including a mercantile town, a citadel controlled by the authorities, and ruins of the old capital city. During the journey, the player encounters randomly generated monsters and mutants. The game offers a turn-based combat system enriched with several modern-day mechanics. For instance, the player can spy on the enemies, checking which one is going to take the next action; one can also combine their spells together for a more powerful effect. The creators paid a great deal of attention to the soundtrack, which was composed by Cedric Menendez and inspired by works of Nobuo Uematsu, Jeremy Soul and Hans Zimmer.
