The 7th expansion pack for 1999's EverQuest - an MMORPG originally developed by Daybreak Game Company. The expansion is set in lands of Discord, ruined by war; the plot focuses on the leader of the Muramites' preparations for invasion of Norrath and other lands. Along with the Wayfarers Brotherhood, the players will try to prevent the execution of these plans. Omens of War introduces many changes and improvements both in terms of technical aspects and mechanics. Above all, the add-on features a system of special quests for beginners, as well as a series of epic missions, the completing of which yields the player valuable prizes. Furthermore, level cap was raised to 65 and the players were given dozens of new items, abilities and spells. Although the expansion is powered by the same technology that was used in production of the base game, different improvements were introduced into the engine. As a result, in-game textures are more detailed, both weather and particle effects make a better impression, but also shading and lighting were significantly enhanced.
