Necrobarista is a visual novel game that takes place in a unique coffee shop where both living and dead come to drink. The place is located near the center of the city of Melbourne. In Necrobarista we will meet many interesting characters coming from all kinds of social groups: baristas, hipsters, even sinister gangsters and necromancers. The players have to uncover the secrets of this world by themselves. We will learn the game's story by reading the descriptions of the environment and by talking to other characters. Some of the texts will have a hyperlink in them. If we click them, they will open new options for the players. The game uses Unity 3D engine. Necrobarista has 3D visuals stylized to look like Japanese anime. It was achieved by using cel-shading technology and by giving the characters facial expressions characteristic to anime.

A conversion and a console port of Sublevel Zero, introducing additional content and offering more spectacular visuals. Similarly to its predecessor, Sublevel Zero Redux was developed by Sigtrap Games. The game sees us enter a low-gravity underground site built by an advanced alien civilization. The rooms and corridors are filled with valuable technology – aside from survival, our goal is to salvage as much of it as we can. The game is seen from a first person perspective, with complete freedom to explore the three dimensional locations in a manner similar to what we could experience in the Descent or Forsaken series. Interestingly enough, the game contains a number of features seen in rougelike games: randomly generated levels and permanent death which forces us to begin a new playthrough every time our vessel is destroyed. We are also left with a crafting system that enables us to gather items and resources and then use them to build new weapons, parts, and other useful items.

An arcade sports game developed by Curve Digital in which we assume control of a professional dodgeball duo. We are taken to the 1970s and introduced to Bjorn and Jerome, a dodgeball duo supported by a demanding coach. When it turns out that their rivals have been abducted in the eve of the final match, the heroes, unwilling to accept a walkover, embark on a journey to free their opponents from the hands of the devil himself. When it comes to mechanics, the game offers a streamlined, fun-oriented gameplay instead of an authentic dodgeball experience. Our goal is to defeat the opponents by hitting them with a ball or a different item at least twice. To avoid being hit, we can employ dodges, jumps, or intercept incoming objects. The game is characterized by colorful, cartoonish visuals and a soundtrack influenced by the music of 1970s.

Galactic Civilizations III: Crusade is an expansion to Galactic Civilizations, a turn-based 4X strategy game developed by Stardock. The expansion offers a new campaign, the titular Crusade. We learn that the human empire is no longer interested in diplomatic actions towards the alien races and decides to use force to mark their presence in the galaxy. Crusade introduces three new playable factions: the Terran Resistance, the Onyx Hive that dwells in the asteroids, and highly advanced cybernetic amoebas, the Slyne. The players can also create their own civilizations, including its leader, ideology, and abilities. We can also design our ships and write our history and dialogue options. Galactic Civilizations III: Crusade also introduces the citizens system (player can give their citizens specific roles) and the espionage mechanics. Additionally, the expansion offers an elaborate planetary invasion system, where we have to train our troops and personally deploy them on specific areas of given planets.

A dynamic beat‘em production developed by an independent Polish studio – Monster Couch. In this game, the player assumes the role of a Valkyrie – ghostly witch with incredible powers sent by Odin to Midgard (the realm of men) to fight off a monster invasion. As the main protagonist becomes mortal upon arriving on Earth and can be struck down by enemies’ blows, the only way to complete the quest of saving the Earth is to possess the bodies of Vikings and use their combat skills in battles to come. In Die for Valhalla!, the players, who see the action from a side perspective, can experience Vikings battling hordes of adversaries and large bosses. The Valkyrie uses ethereal weapons to attack enemies, while the possessed Vikings represent various classes like the Berserker, who masterfully wields two axes, or the Hunter who is able to quickly change his position and attack from a distance with a bow. Interestingly, en experienced Valkyrie can take the control over not only the Vikings, but also hostile warriors, monsters, and objects. What is more, Valkyries can summon fallen heroes from Valhalla. Apart from the single player mode, the game offers a cooperative multiplayer mode allowing up to 4 players to join their forces against the monster invasion. The Unity engine, on which the game is based, features appealing visuals resembling those of the well-established Don’t Starve.

A science-fiction arcade RPG developed by Radical Fish Games. We are taken to a distant future, to a world where humanity spends its free time by playing a futuristic MMO called CrossWorlds. Our hero – Lea – returns to the game after a long break, as the game’s administration suggests that her loss of memory may be averted by logging back to the game. Nevertheless, it quickly turns out that some of the CrossWorlds users remember her, and will attempt to make her life miserable to the best of their abilities. CrossCode mainly focuses on arcade combat and solving puzzles. Lea is a Spheremancer, a class whose main ability is to create energy spheres that can be fired in short succession. The heroine can also create a shield that absorbs the incoming attacks, or perform quick dodges. As always, we can improve our abilities by acquiring new skills found on a special tree, as well as equip more powerful gear. The game is especially characteristic for its eye-friendly pixel-art graphics. Interestingly enough, the game is seen from a two-dimensional perspective, with unaccented third dimension that comes into play when a hero climbs to an elevated location.

Nonetheless, Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop focuses on co-op matches, this time for up to eight players. Once again, we play as soldiers who were sent to fight the titular aliens. The action is presented from a top-down perspective. The game has nice visuals and offers some PvP modes where we can fight against other players.

The Foregone Syndicate’s work has been developed solely for single player, although online rankings serve as a sort of substitute for multiplayer, letting the players show off their scores. An original mixture of a platformer and a metroidvania game, developed by Villa Gorilla - a small Swedish studio. Working as a postman, he stumbles upon traces of a serious affair, the victim of which is an ancient divine being that had been taking care of the land. The insect's goal is to find a way to wake up the sleeping guardian in order to bring peace and order back to the island. What distinguishes Yoku's Island Express from other games of this kind, is that the developer borrowed elements of pinball. The beetle rolls a ball in front of himself - thanks to that ball, he can bounce off flippers installed in the environment in order to reach places difficult to access. The game is played from a side view and the core of the experience is made up of platforming elements, such as exploring, avoiding traps, eliminating adversaries or collecting valuable items.

The game simplifies the traditional RTS mechanics, but supplementing them with elements borrowed from card games and tower defense titles. Each duel is fought using the cards one has in their deck, which can be modified to one's liking. New cards can be found in chests received for victories. Cards of the same kind can be combined together to improve the firepower and durability of one's tanks and other units. Contrary to the classic RTS games, the player cannot control particular units manually - the player only chooses when and where to place a unit and the rest is done automatically, as the subordinates simply join the battle. Placing various units on the battlefield should be done with caution however, as sending a tank to a zone where the enemy has already placed a soldier with a rocket launcher will have catastrophic consequences.

An original economic strategy game developed by Wild Factor, also known for the acclaimed Freaking Meatbags. In the game, the player assumes the role of a fledgling owner of a shabby abode – his task is to make it into a mansion for various monsters, mutated plants, and psychopathic murderers, all taken straight from horror films. During the game, one has to construct new rooms, upgrade the existing ones, and lure innocent victims into the mansion – our vicious protégés can murder them and loot their bodies for resources necessary for crafting new items. What is worth noticing, the player has to obey the usual, unwritten rules of horror B-movies – murders can occur only at night, the virgins have to be the last ones to die, and such. In MachiaVillain one has to remember that the innocent victims are not the only ones to step through our threshold – our residence is visited by other monsters, who in turn can be caught and convinced to work for us, as well as supernatural creature hunters, police operatives, and even SWAT units. Because of that, combat is an important aspect of the game, offering an active pause system that allows the players to fight, observe and plan their strategies.

Since the movements of the robots are usually interconnected, solving the puzzles requires strict cooperation and being able to coordinate the moves of particular robots. Death Squared offers over 100 different levels divided into three game modes, namely the story campaign (for one or two players), the PARTY mode (for two or four players), and the special Vault mode, which is also designed for a two- or four-player experience, and features levels rated by the developers as too difficult to be included in the two modes mentioned above.

Codex of Victory is a science fiction strategy game that takes place in the far future. It was developed by the Russian studio Ino-Co. Plot is the crucial element of gameplay in Codex of Victory. Missions focus on the real-time improvement and extension of our underground base, on managing our resources, conducting technological research, construction of war machines, and on fighting with our enemies' forces. Combat is turn-based and takes place on maps made of hexagonal tiles. What is interesting is the fact that missions are generated procedurally, making each playthrough a unique experience. A sports game simulating table tennis, developed by an independent studio called Reddoll Games. The game has been designed for Virtual Reality headgear and motion controllers – by using the latter ones, the players can control the paddle hovering in the air and hit the incoming balls. The standard rules of table tennis are slightly modified within several optional game modes in VR Ping Pong. For Example, in the Wall Mode, the player has to use a wall to bounce the ball, while in Broken Table Mode, after each hit, the table is gradually getting destroyed. The player can also enjoy the Serve Mode (in which they can test the strength and precision of their serves) and the TT Machine, which tests the player’s reflexes. Moreover, the game delivers single matches and tournaments, while the beginning players can familiarize themselves with the rules in the dedicated tutorial. The original, yet not very attractive visuals have been designed based on voxel graphics.

A unique management game and a remastered and extended edition of a PlayStation 2 title. Princess Maker Refine was created by Japanese studio Gainax, supervised by one of its co-founders, Takami Akai. You play as a hero, who already defeated the dark lord and saved the citizens of the kingdom invaded by the villain. The protagonist decided to settle down and adopt an orphaned girl, so that he can not only help with rebuilding the country, but also take care of her future. Thus you have to look after your foster daughter and make sure she has good education and skills, which will have an impact on her adult life. The girl's personality and skills are described with numerical values and statistics, and her daily schedule and what she can learn are entirely up to you. After eight years (divided into four seasons, dozens days each), when she becomes of age, you unlock one of the 74 possible endings, depending on her career path — this is when the girl's skills and experience become apparent. The game features vastly improved visuals and soundtrack, compared to those from the original release.

A turn-based military strategy game by Japanese studio Area 34, inspired by classic Japanese productions of the genre. In Tiny Metal you play as Lieutenant Nathan Gries, an officer of the Artemisian army, which is at war with the evil nation of Zipang. During the turn-based battles you assume control of many units and attack the enemy by using the right tactic and taking advantage of the terrain. There are thirteen unique units, and the battles are affected by their abilities and the genre-typical fog of war. Apart from the story campaign, which should take about 8-19 hours to finish, there is also a skirmish mode, allowing you to participate in quick battles, and a level editor.

Co-developed by Jam City, together with David X. Cohen and Matt Groening – the authors of the original animation, an adaptation of the popular adult cartoon series called Futurama. The player takes the role of Philip J. Fry, a pizza delivery boy from New York, who accidentally gets frozen in a cryogenic chamber and wakes up a thousand years later. The backbone of Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow is the development of futuristic New York, which involves gathering resources, erecting buildings, and managing finances. Exploring the galaxy and its planets on the deck of a spaceship plays also an important role. Both of these feature enemies – space battles look like classic shooters, while combat on the surface of a planet is turn-based. The title stars the characters from the cartoon – you collect them and upgrade by improving their statistics and unlocking new skills.

Culdcept Revolt is a turn-based RPG developed by Omiya Soft, which uses elements of card and board games and was released as part of celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Culdcept series. The game takes us to a fantasy world where we play as a boy named Allen. He's a recruit in the Rebel Army that fights to put an end to the tyrannical rule of Count Kraniss. As we play, we take part in turn-based battles that take place on grid-covered maps. Our goal in each fight is to get as much points as possible. They are given to us for taking control over new sectors of the map. A throw of dice decides how far we can move during our turn. If we encounter an enemy while making our move, a battle begins, during which we use monster and spell cards. We learn the game's story through visual novel-like cut-scenes. Culdcept Revolt offers a local and online multiplayer for up to four players.

Adventure, Indie Games, Music, Rhythm, Singleplayer.
A rhythmic adventure game in which the essence of the game are battles for words. In comparison to other productions of this type, this title stands out due to the original mechanics of the game. The songs take on the role of extended dialogue trees, in which subsequent issues are arranged in successive lines. Success guarantees not only the right rhymes, but also enriching the tracks with the right emotional charge, fitting in with the weakness of a particular opponent. Behind the creation of this position are the bands NanaOn-Sha (PaRappa The Rapper) and iNiS (Gitaroo Man).

Yomawari: Midnight Shadows is a horror action-adventure game developed by the Japanese studio Nippon Ichi Software and a sequel to Yomawari: Night Alone. The game takes place in modern-day Japan and tells the story of two girls, Yui and Haru, who can't find the way back home from their trip to the mountains. To make matters worse, they get separated after a short while. In terms of gameplay mechanics, Yomawari: Midnight Shadows will test our dexterity and wit. As we play, we explore a city that drastically changes when the sun came down and try to make the girls meet. The campaign has segments where we will play as both Yui and Haru. Actions we take as one of them influence the fate of the other. Our heroines are practically defenseless, so we will have to do anything we can to avoid any kind of confrontation. The gameplay, however, does not focus only on sneaking around. From time to time we will have to simply run away or defeat ghosts with the help of various items.
