A cooperation-based action game set in a post-apocalyptic steampunk world. The players assume the roles of crew members aboard combat airships and fight for survival during air battles. The creators of the game, the American studio Muse Games, had planned to release Alliance as a DLC expansion for their previous game - Guns of Icarus: Online. Over time however, Alliance became a full-fledged game which adds to the concept of its PvP-focused predecessor through implementing PvE contents, including cooperation-based missions and seasonal faction wars. In the co-op missions, the players assemble into 4-member crews comprising representatives of 3 classes: the Pilot, the Gunner, and the Engineer; then they complete various objectives and battle the AI-controlled airships of the enemy. Completing a mission affects the power of the faction the crew represents. One's faction fights other parties for domination over the world. On the world map, the factions fight seasonal wars - those are divided into two stages: the struggle for control over resources, and the actual wars fought by factions linked together into alliances by the developers. Great events and special achievements of particular players can become part of the game's story, which is being written by the creators.

An unusual hybrid of a shoot'em up and an action RPG. The players are taken to a planet which was torn into pieces as a result of a global cataclysm. Those who survived the catastrophe had to conform to the harsh rule of megacorporations. In opposition to those, smaller and larger tribes emerged, whose members earn their living as mercenaries and smugglers. The protagonist is a smuggler himself, who pilots a combat ship while taking part in air battles, fighting armies belonging to the corporations, and trying to make it out alive. The game is played from a side view, and the experience is based on dynamic action, as the player constantly moves to the right and eliminates everything that stands in their way. The game was divided into randomly generated missions and the player fights different enemies while completing them. Among the adversaries, heavy cruisers are the toughest, because they serve the role of bosses here. To achieve victory, one has to maneuver their ship (it represents one of three classes) effectively, juggle different weapons, attacks and special moves skillfully, as well as to make a good use of the seventy active and passive abilities. Drifting Lands has eye-pleasing visuals, as it offers a colorful, cartoonish graphic style.

The only remnants of the human civilization are the buildings it has left behind and humanoid robots - the titular Morphies. The player assumes the role of one such Morphy and engages in dynamic team matches governed by quite unusual rules. When shooting at a given adversary's body part, it is reduced, while the player's limb increases in size. This is well reflected in the gameplay balance (less skilled players are smaller, thus more difficult to hit) and in the possibilities opening before the players during the game. For example, a smaller robot can access previously unavailable locations; however, a machine with long legs can reach areas inaccessible for shorter machines.

The game is a direct sequel to Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception and tells the further story of Haku and his friends who are tasked with assuming control of the military forces of the Yamato Empire and using them to protect the territory from hostile neighbors. There are new types of side missions available as well. The battles once again take place on three-dimensional maps with a grid. All units are moving on the grid fields. Although the battles are turn-based, they feature action sequences. When a character performs an action and the player presses a button at a correct time, various bonuses are activated - including critical hits. Other novelties include cooperation attacks, new skills and new types of weapons. Similarly to the previous entries in the series, Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth features high quality two-dimensional graphics. A spin-off of the Earth Defense Force series. It was created and developed by D3 Publisher. Contrary to the main entries in the series, it is a classic shoot’em up. During the battle the player can use varied weapons and power-ups that increase their combat potential. In addition to regular opponents, the player must face much stronger bosses. The action is also made more interesting thanks to the “Shoot Up Times” – sequences, during which the player stops and fights legions of enemies coming from all directions. The game lacks typical multiplayer mode, but players can compete with each other through online scoreboards.
