Simulation, FPP, Internet, Space, Multiplayer, Science Fiction, TV Series, Singleplayer.

A simulator set in a science fiction world. The game tries to transfer the world of a popular TV series called Babylon 5 into a game called Freespace 2. Initially, the game functioned as a modification for that game, however, over time it became a full – although free – game. Similarly to the original, The Babylon Project is an arcade space simulator. However, the difference here is that names of all ships, proper names and plots of all scenarios refer to the aforementioned TV series. The developers recreated models of ships as well as all nuances of Babylon 5 universe world (e.g. original voices, music and fragments of videos). The game also offers a multiplayer mode where the players can control fighters known from the TV series and face each other.

Elven Legacy is set in the same world as its predecessor — the world, in which elves are trying to restore the former glory of their race. However, someone is trying to gain access to an ancient magic, their Great Tree, which grants the ability of reincarnation. The game features two independent campaigns, in which you can play as either the leader of the army of elves or the army of men, and a range of bonus missions, in which you can also lead e.g. the orcish forces. Compared to the first installment, the gameplay mechanics have stayed mostly the same. Elven Legacy, however, features new characters, unique abilities, spells, battle units, and artifacts. The AI algorithms have been upgraded and new available tactics have been added.

The game uses gameplay solutions from both installments of Unreal Tournament and combines a well-developed multiplayer mode with option to play the game alone by fighting AI-controlled bots. The main differences between both games are related to the necessity of adapting the mechanics to the consoles by reducing the difficulty level, adding aim assist and making moving through the terrain easier. The main attraction of the game is still its multiplayer mode. The matches take place on 25 varied maps. One can choose from 28 characters, each of which has its unique story and abilities. The game can be played through Xbox Live or by directly connecting consoles. Up to 16 players can play the title simultaneously.

The 8th expansion pack to the MMORPG EverQuest which remains popular since its debut in 1999. The expansion pack was developed by Daybreak Game Company which maintains the franchise. In EverQuest: Dragons of Norrath the player can learn about the conflict between Firiona Vie and Lanys T’Vyl. The conflict is the harbinger of the Age of War that is coming to Norrath. The player is tasked with participating in the battle between good and evil by completing various story and side quests, exploring new locations and fighting enemies that weren’t present in the basic version of the game and previous expansion packs – including the titular dragons. The changes and improvements were made to the gameplay as well – the player was given access to an interactive world map and a special belt that provides quick access to selected items and potions. In addition to that, the guild system was expanded – the headquarters enables the player not only to stock valuable items, but provide a base for his avatar. As usually, the graphics were slightly improved in comparison to the original EverQuest.

We sit in the cockpit of a spaceship, called Beat Blaster, which races through the musical cyberspace on a track that reflects the rhythmic notation of the currently played song. It is divided into several paths, each representing individual elements of the song (vocals, guitar, bass, and drums), and our task is to press the right button when a given instrument is playing.
