Combined with specific design of maps – filled with covers and stashes, and shown from top down view – it gives the game a very tactical feeling, magnified by features like the need to lay suppressing fire. There are several game modes to choose from, including the classic deathmatch, its team variant and duels at noon. Winning allows the player to upgrade their characters’ skills and give them access to better equipment. As far as audiovisuals go, creators of Secret Ponchos aimed at slightly humorous style known from spaghetti western movies.

A simple real-time strategy by Polish studio Squatting Penguins. Plot of The Mims Beginning tells the story of the titular Mims, who traverse the galaxy in search of a new home. However, their ship gets damaged by an asteroid, so they are forced to seek refuge at nearby celestial bodies, each of which is distinguished by a different climate and terrain. Player's task is to help Mims in building and developing a colony under those difficult conditions. During the game we have to face many problems, the biggest of which are epidemic shortages of energy, generated from fruits of various plants. Furthermore, we have deal with local fauna, e.g. giant dragons, as well as with other threats. A characteristic feature of the game is that – like in the Black & White series – we do not have full control over our subjects and in the course of gameplay we can only indirectly influence their actions by giving simple commands, planting plants or designing the colony.

Esmyrelda Maximus, our protagonist, tries to manage the difficult situation. Her job is to find alternative ways of extracting cryamore. Gameplay focuses on exploration, doing story and side missions, and on fighting with the encountered enemies. Combat is rather arcade in Cryamore. In battle, we can use both weapons and magical powers. The day/night mechanics implemented in the game has visible impact on gameplay as some rare monsters will only appear on specific hours. The game has eye-pleasing visuals, visibly inspired by the Japanese games of the same genre, such as Secret of Mana or The Legend of Zelda.

Alas, despite our efforts, the stronghold has been attack and partially destroyed. Panic and chaos erupted on its streets, leading to a civil war. What’s worse, a mysterious group of schemers are preparing to implement their dastardly plan with the intent of killing the majority of citizens. Our task is to thwart it, of course. Mechanics-wise, the title does not significantly deviate from the first installment of the series, offering a classical isometric view, several character classes, a turn-based combat system, and tens of primary and secondary quests during which we will face various kinds of enemies.
