The story of Paradigm takes us to a near future to a surreal world inspired by Eastern Europe of the 70s and 80s. The protagonist is named Paradigm, he is a mutant and a product of a failed project of DUPA Corporation that deals in breeding ideal children.

You play as Jack Kelly, a former NYC detective who was framed for murder and demoted. Hated by everyone around, Jack is trying to reconcile his duties with conducting a private investigation in order to discover who framed him. The plot of Beat Cop is non-linear and its many endings depend on your decisions.

The Nonary Games includes 2009's 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward - a game which came out three years later. Since the plots of the two games are strongly connected, it is recommended to play through them in chronological order.
