BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is a classic representative of the fighting games genre. It was developed by Arc System Works. The game is a 2.5D fighting game – it means that gameplay mechanics are fully two-dimensional despite the fact that locations are made in 3D. Tag system is the heart of the game. The player chooses two characters before the battle. They can control only one of them simultaneously but can also switch between them during the fight. Each of the fighters has a separate health bar. The title features a large variety of characters, including ones from games BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena, Under Night in-Birth and the animated series RWBY. All characters feature unique fighting styles with various special attacks and combos. Developers introduced a few single player modes, but the multiplayer is most enjoyable part of the game – it can be played on a single screen or via Internet.

The player participates in a competition between the titular warriors-riders. They are trying to find out who is the strongest among them. In Kamen Rider: Climax Fighters the player can choose from a variety of characters that differ in looks, special skills, weapons and combination of attacks. The action is presented by using a third-person perspective and the gameplay focuses on dynamic and spectacular battles fought one on one or two on two. What’s interesting, for the first time in the history of the series, it is possible to play with other people not only on a single console, but through Internet as well. Between the fights fought on three-dimensional arenas the players are taken to a virtual lobby where they can check out various minigames. The title features simple graphics inspired by its manga and TV inspirations.

A compilation of three games from a popular series developed by CyberConnect2 that are based on a hit manga created by Masashi Kishimoto and its animated adaptation. The collection contains: Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm (2008), Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 (2010) and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst (2013). The series takes place in a world that is a combination of feudal Japan, magical fantasy and modern technologies where one of the most important roles in shaping the geopolitical situation belongs to villages that train ninja warriors who are later rented out for money. All three games in the collection have the same basics and the goal of the games is to fight with other warriors that have their own fighting style and unique special attacks. However, all titles are thoroughly remastered and thanks to that they offer a smoother animation, better anti-aliasing and a higher resolution.

The campaign of the game consists of chapters focused on various characters and the cutscenes between the fights are similar to visual novels. The gameplay mechanics of Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 don’t differ much from the previous entry, but the game introduces some improvements. The expanded edition offers one returning and one new character: female samurai Baiken and the “business ninja” named Answer. Another installment in the popular 3D fighting game series based on the best-selling Japanese comic books created by Eiichiro Oda. The title was co-developed by Namco Bandai Games and Spike Chunsoft studio – the creators of Danganronpa and the Conception series. The plot is not very sophisticated as it serves only as a pretext for the most famous One Piece fighters to engage in duels. The game includes all of the important characters from the original manga. What differentiates this title from series like Tekken is the fact that in One Piece: Burning Blood you can control a team of three fighters that can be switched during battles any time you want. Each character has its own set of moves as well as special attacks, called Logia Moves. The key to success is the correct choice of team members, creating a versatile mix of offensive and defensive abilities.

As befits a proper fighting game, we are given a set of basic strikes that can be combined into deadly combos. As far as novelties are concerned, the most important ones include new units and the Extreme Force Mode in which teams, led by a player, fight one another in real time with the option to pause combat and issue orders to individual combatants.
