The game delivers several modes, one of which is the tutorial allowing the player to familiarize themselves with the abilities features by the character they have chosen. The fourteenth installment in the legendary Japanese series of fighting games started in 1994 on Neo Geo console and arcade cabinets. This greatly impacts the gameplay, making it more similar to the Tekken or Dead or Alive series. The King of Fighters IV is the first installment in the series to be released on PlayStation 4. In the game, the players assume the role of a warrior of their choosing and fight against opponent controlled by either another player or by the AI. The game offers a wide choice of playable characters. Some of them return from previous entries in The King of Fighters series, but their fighting style was adapted to new gameplay mechanics that uses three-dimensional environment. The production utilizes a free-to-play model with microtransactions. The game is set in a fantasy world inspired by Asian legends and features warriors, who can use superhuman powers. The gameplay consists of one-on-one duels in a gesture-based combat system. Those classic fighting game rules have been expanded by adding some role-playing elements. The game’s biggest feature is the use of Unreal Engine which supports 1080p, along with 3D backgrounds and 3D character models. The latter, implemented as a modified cel-shading style, strongly resembles original, two-dimensional sprites. Mechanically, not much has changed; it is still a classic fighting title with a dynamic and difficult-to-master combat system based on combos and special attacks (which drain a special bar). Another installment in the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series developed by Cyberconnect 2 and Bandai Namco, specifically for the PlayStation Portable handhelds. Based on the popular manga series by Masashi Kishimoto, the game follows the adventure of the titular ninja that gets thrown into the midst of incredible events once a great war breaks out. The plot encompasses most of the episodes belonging to the original TV series. The game offers over 20 characters the fans of the franchise are familiar with - those differ in their skills, which can be additionally developed as the player progresses. The game features several different modes, such as Story Battle (the story mode), Versus Battle (1 on 1 duel against the AI or another player) or Tag Battle, which is a cooperation-based variant (for two players). All of this is complemented by cel-shaded graphics typical for this franchise. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact introduces new camera angles to the in-game boss fights.
