A third-person action RPG and the next installment in a bestselling Capcom series. Monster Hunter: Wilds is set in a wild realm of deserts and savannas, where we must hunt various monsters. The game features high-quality visuals and it's played either solo or in online coop. It's based on many concepts of the previous parts, but also bring new features.
Monster Hunter: Wilds is an action RPG game, representing the best-selling series that began in 2004. The game was developed and released by Capcom, the company overseeing the brand.
The action of Monster Hunter: Wilds takes place in a fantasy universe, specifically - in the Forbidden Lands. During the game we embody one of the titular hunters, leading a commission investigating this territory. Our task is to uncover the mysteries of this place, as well as to defend its inhabitants from threats posed by various monsters.
In Monster Hunter: Wilds the action is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP).
The game provides us with a vast world, where we can find vast sandy deserts, as well as a vibrant savannas or a chilling forests. Although we can explore these locations on foot, a better option is to gallop through them on a mount or jump on the back of one of the winged creatures and cover large distances in the air.
The driving force of the game are quests, in which we hunt for specific monsters. We need to prepare properly for each mission, equipping ourselves with the right weapons (melee or ranged) and armor, as well as other useful items that increase our chances of success. In order to acquire the necessary equipment, we need to gather resources and based on them, produce the equipment we need at a given moment. The main source of raw materials are the beasts we defeat, although some resources can also be acquired from traders or found in visited locations.
On the list of creatures we are dealing with, we can find both specimens known from previous installments of the series, as well as a number of completely new ones. The so-called Apex Monsters are at the top of the food chain in a given region and pose the greatest challenge for us.
The fights with creatures are dynamic, and during them we must demonstrate agility and reflexes, being in constant motion and carefully looking for gaps in the defense of adversaries and their potential weak points. The novelty in the game is the Focus Mode, in which a crosshair appears on the screen, allowing for better aiming of attacks. We can, for example, aim at wounds on the bodies of enemies. Moreover, there is nothing to prevent us from hiring additional hunters who will actively support us in the fight.
Apart from beasts, violent weather conditions (including sandstorms or heavy storms) can pose a threat to our character. There are also other dangers created by the environment, such as quicksand.
During breaks from our voyages, we end up in villages where we can regenerate our depleted strength and prepare for the next challenges. This last part is also somewhat possible in the field - at any time we can set up a camp or light a grill to prepare a meal that boosts certain statistics.
Monster Hunter: Wilds allows for solo play or cooperative mode over the Internet.

Monster Hunter Wilds review - a next step in the evolution
Monster Hunter Wilds is a good new addition to this long-running series. It takes some bold steps, and although not all of them are moving it in the right direction, the overall experience was still satisfactory. Monster Hunter keeps evolving as a series, and Capcom proves once again that they are the best in this genre they created over 20 years ago.

Monster Hunter Wilds manages to deliver on every expectation one would have for a new Monster Hunter game, before dropping the throttle and blasting through every expectation you didn't even know you had. With gameplay shake ups, weapon tweaks and a brilliant range of monsters strewn across a score of incredible landscapes, Wilds is a different beast that establishes itself as well worth the hunt.
