A cRPG game based on the popular adult animated TV series South Park. South Park: The Stick of Truth was co-developed by Obsidian Entertainment and the creators of the original animated series – Matt Stone and Trey Parker. The player assumes the role of a kid who, together with his parents, just moved in to the titular town and tries to win his peers’ sympathy. Shared LARP (Live Action Role Playing), in which Cartman and his friends take part, gives the hero a chance to prove himself. The plot of South Park: The Stick of Truth is filled to capacity with absurd humor and references to popular culture. The creators applied elements of classic cRPG mechanics, like character classes, turn-based combat, gaining experience, and reaching higher levels. The production features cartoon-like graphics.

The title expands on foundations of 2013’s third game in the series, focusing on dynamic battles, which – thanks to the heroes’ unique abilities – take place both on land and in the air. The developers prepared over 100 characters known from the Naruto Shippuden universe, including a completely new fighter created exclusively for the game by Masashi Kishimoto. New features include additional attacks and ways to combine them in more advanced techniques. As far as audiovisuals go, the title retains traditional colorful graphics stylized on original manga.

Another installment in an RPG series based on the Comedy Central’ cult adult-oriented cartoon TV series. The title is a direct sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth released in 2014. However, unlike that game, this one was created by an Ubisoft’s subsidiary. Once again you play as the New Kid, whose family just recently moved in to South Park. This tim, Cartman and his group play the roles of superheroes, making up the vigilante group of Coon & Friends. They have to face a new danger, the villainous Professor Chaos. In terms of gameplay mechanics, the game is similar to its predecessor, combining classic RPG elements with turn-based combat, further spiced up with a big doze of nasty humor invented by the creators of the TV series: Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

Another installment in the best-selling fighting games series set in the universe of the popular manga by Akira Toriyama and anime TV series. The production was developed by the experienced Dimps studio, which already has in its portfolio several parts of the game, released for both home and handheld consoles. This installment of Dragon Ball focuses on presenting the most important and most spectacular duels in the history of the series, with the participation of Son Goku and the main villains: Vegeta, Nappa, Freezer, Cell, and Buu. In order to refresh the formula of the cycle, the creators introduced a new structure of the world, a futuristic city and new, mysterious characters. The graphics of the game employ the cel-shading technology, which gives it a distinctive comic style. Dragon Ball: Xenoverse marks the debut of the series on eighth-generation consoles, which obviously has influenced the visual experience.

A third main entry in the popular jRPG series, started in 2002 on PlayStation 2 console. The production, developed by Square-Enix, is a closing act of the story taking place in a unique fantasy universe, which combines the worlds of several movies and TV dramas created by Disney with the Final Fantasy series. The main characters are Sora, Riku, and Kairi from the previous games, along with well-known Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, or Goofy. We witness the final face-off between light and dark, the latter embodied by an organization named XIII, led by master Xehanort. While the visuals have been significantly enhanced, Kingdom Hearts III employs the mechanics and fighting system known from its predecessors. We observe the game’s world from third-person perspective, while during the real-time battles we can count on the support from our two allies, each with a unique set of skills.

The third full-fledged installment in a series of popular fighting games developed by Cyberconnect 2 and focusing on the adventures of a bright-haired ninja warrior by the name of Naruto. Once again, the game was based on two main modes - classic 1 on 1 battles taking place on wide 3D arenas, and the story mode which allows the player to explore this popular universe freely and take part in the greatest battles depicted first in the original manga series (until the Nine-Tails invades the Hidden Leaf Village). As usual, the game includes most of the characters the fans of the series are familiar with. Each of the in-game fighters has their own unique fighting style and a set of spectacular special abilities. All of this is complemented by (what is typical for this franchise) cel-shaded graphics that successfully recreate the art style of Japanese animation. As a result, the visual impressions resemble watching another episode of one's favorite anime series.

Another installment in the 3D fighting game series by Bandai Namco Entertainment, based on the extremely popular manga by Akira Toriyama. Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2 utilizes the same formulas as its predecessor by combining the elements of all the series of the DB anime (Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Super), as well as those from the movies. The game features a multitude of familiar characters and an option to create your own custom character; you can choose their gender, appearance and powers. Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2 focuses on battles taking place in 3D arenas, during which you use a range of unique attacks and powers derived from the original manga and anime series. The game utilizes the cel-shading technology, just like its first installment, and features the original anime voice actors, but thanks to the capabilities of the new generation devices, the visual and sound layer are much better.

The visuals of Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 were developed using the cel-shading technology. Thanks to that the game looks similarly to its animated archetype. An arcade action game based on the license of a popular TV series bearing the same title. The player once again assumes the role of Ben Tennyson - the protagonist has to face the forces of evil threatening the entire world. Ben is not alone however, as both cousin Gwen and grandfather Max support him on his quest. Similar to previous installments of the series, Ben 10 is played from a third-person view. The player traverses diverse locations, jumps across platforms, avoids various threats, solves simple environmental puzzles and fights foes that appeared in the original TV series. In combat, Ben makes use of the special Omnitrix device, which enables him to shapeshift into the forms of ten creatures from other planets - in so doing, the protagonist gains the advantage over their enemies. Juggling quick, light attacks and slower but stronger strikes skilfully is also crucial for victory, apart from linking attacks into spectacular combos. The game comes with simple visuals inspired by the TV original in terms of the style - the creators made use of cel-shading technique in the production process.

Apart from the duel mode typical for this genre, the player will also find an extensive story mode that focuses on adventures of Naruto and Sasuke - one can go through the most important encounters from the original anime series in this mode. In the title, we side with the noble Autobots to face the deceitful Decepticons whose leader, Megatron, discovered a technology that would allow him to transform Earth into a great cybernetic structure. Assuming the role of one of 5 robots, we have to thwart our enemy’s evil plans by using unique abilities and offensive techniques of each character. Moreover, they can be further developed in the course of the game. Thanks to the use of cel-shading technology, the game quite faithfully recreates the atmosphere of the cartoon original. Another highlight of the title is the dubbing performed by the actors who voiced the TV series.

The game offers over 150 fighters representing different races, such as the Saiyan (Goku, Vegeta), inhabitants of the planet Namek (Piccolo), humans (Tenshinhan, Krillin) or androids (#17, #18). Each of the characters has a unique set of attacks and special abilities. Moreover, many of them are capable of transforming and accessing new, more powerful attacks by doing so. Fighting takes place in 20 in-game locations and particular arenas can be visited both in daylight and when it is dark. What complements Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, are high-quality visuals that remain faithful to the art style Toriyama has been popular for.

The fifth installment of the Cyberconnect 2 studio's arcade brawler series known from Sony consoles, based on Masashi Kishimoto's famous manga and anime. The story of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 5 is a continuation of the plot from the previous installment of the series, and during the game we take control of the title ninja warrior, who after returning to his home village must face another powerful opponents, with the help of his devoted friends.
