Subverse is an erotic game combining elements of shooters and strategy games. The project was developed by FOW Interactive studio. Subverse is their first game. Previously, the group made short pornographic CG films with famous characters from the gaming industry.

Plot

The action takes place in the distant future when humanity colonized significant areas of the cosmos and got to know many foreign civilizations. The game tells the story of a starship crew that falls into a black hole during a stellar voyage and is thrown into the undiscovered galaxy of Prodigium. This region is full of strange races and magnificent worlds, but at the same time, it is ruled by a puritanic empire that hates everything about sex.

The player takes on the role of captain of an Earth ship, who, together with the crew and the adventurous inhabitants of Prodigion, will have to start a revolution against the empire. All this is presented with much humor and the script is full of comedy elements.

Mechanics

Unlike most typical erotic games, Subverse has an extensive gameplay mechanics. Exploration of space takes place in a style based on old-school shooters. One's ship moves only in two dimensions, and the stellar clashes require players to prove their dexterity. Many missions also require to manage the team of soldiers. The battles take place in a turn-based system, similar to theXCOM series.

Strong RPG elements have been added to all of this. During the game, players need to develop the skills of their subordinates and upgrade the ship. The player can also breed genetically modified monsters to support him or her during skirmishes.

The turn-based battles are also attended by warriors recruited during the adventures of the warriors. Successes are rewarded with sex scenes with these characters. Each warrior has many sequences of this type and the game does not require monogamy from any player. The heroines have extensive stories and their own so-called loyalty missions, the completion of which provides access to subsequent erotic scenes and additional combat abilities.

Game modes

Subverse offers single player story mode only. The authors have not provided any option for multiplayer games.

Technical aspects

The game has an impressive visual setting that goes far beyond what is considered standard for erotic productions. Subverse is based on Unreal Engine engine, which allowed the developers to offer detailed 3D visuals. The developers' previous experiences resulted in long and imaginative sex scenes.
