Alan Wake 2 Increasingly Likely; Remedy and Epic Games to Cooperate on Two Games

Remedy Entertainment will create two new games in partnership with Epic Games. One of them might be Alan Wake 2.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Remedy Entertainment signed a deal with Epic Games;
  • Developers will create two new games in collaboration with Tim Sweeney's company;
  • The development of one of them will begin soon. According to the leaks, it may be Alan Wake 2.

Remedy Entertainment has officially committed to working with Epic Games. Control's devs will create two new titles in cooperation with the latter company. One of the titles will represent the AAA segment and will appear on multiple platforms. The second game will be a smaller project, which will be set in the same universe as the main game. Both will be developed using the Northlight engine, which was used in Control and Quantum Break.

Under the signed agreement, Epic Games Publishing will completely cover the costs of developing and publishing the game. After its publication, Remedy Entertainment will receive 50% of the profits from the sale of the title as soon as the money invested in the game is earned.

For now, it was not revealed which games will be developed by the studio. However, the first of them will soon enter the development phase. Journalist from GamesBeat, Jeff Grubb, saysthat this mysterious big-budget project is Alan Wake 2. This rumor seems logical when we recall the recent Control: AWE DLC for Control. The title crossed the plot centered on Jesse Faden with the adventures of Alan Wake. The studio also openly mentioned plans to build its own game universe called Remedy Connected Universe.

For now, the company has not confirmed these theories. However, the developers' plans are clearly ambitious. The entire department, which previously worked on Control has been transferred to other titles. One of them is a completely new game, which is in the early design phase. However, we still have to wait for the official announcements.
