All Microsoft Events Until July 2021 Only in Digital Form

Due to the global situation, Microsoft was forced to change its calendar and strategy. Until July 2021, all events of the company will take place only in digital form.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Microsoft has changed its event calendar and strategy;
  2. Until July 2021, all events organized by the company will be held only in digital form;
  3. This means that Microsoft will not show up at this year's GamesCom (unless it will also be moved to the Internet) and E3 2021;
  4. However, its bosses will monitor the situation on an ongoing basis and intend to return to the standards liked by the players (and not only) "when the situation allows it".

Microsoft has sent a message to the participants of next year's MVP & RD Summit, its technology event. As we can read in this message, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the company was forced to make changes in its strategy. As a result, until July 2021 all events organized by this hardware and software manufacturer will be held exclusively in digital form. Nevertheless, Microsoft intends to "assess the situation" on an ongoing basis in order to return to the form of advertising its products that we all like "when the situation allows it".

As this is "second-hand" information, Eurogamer has decided to seek information at the source. Microsoft's representative admitted that the Covid-19 pandemic forced the company to adjust its "calendar of events and strategies" and that the rest of 2020 will be marked by "experimenting with new platforms" in order to provide "top quality digital entertainment".

So it can be concluded that both the possible conference at the GamesCom fair (which still has a chance to be held the usual way) and the event (probably loud) accompanying the launch of Xbox Series X, would only take place on the Internet. What's interesting, it would also mean that Microsoft wouldn't show up at next year's E3 fair, which is scheduled for mid-June (although at the moment it's not clear what form it will take after the announced reconstruction).

For now, we have to say goodbye to the loud events organized by Microsoft.
