Amazon Wants to Bring Throne and Liberty to the West

Korean media are reporting that one of the most anticipated MMORPGs, Throne and Liberty, may be coming to the Western market thanks to Amazon. The game was intended to be a heir to the Lineage series and became famous for its impressive graphics.

As reported by Money Today, citing an anonymous source, negotiations are underway between Amazon and NCSoft. The subject of these talks is the game Throne and Liberty. The Western giant wants to pulish the game in North America and Europe. Apparently, there are many indications that the deal will be finalized.

Amazon MMOs

It is no secret that Amazon is trying to expand its gaming portfolio. Last year, the company created New World. In addition, not long ago it acquired the rights to publish Lost Ark in the West. So the giant already has experience in the MMORPG field. However, it must be admitted that the two cases presented above were not without some controversy. We wrote about them in more detail in previous articles, which we link below.

Amazon Games' eagerness to strengthen its position in digital entertainment is therefore evident. In addition, experts note that the publisher of Throne and Liberty, a company called NCSoft, is looking for ways to make its presence more visible in Western markets.

There is no denying that Amazon could use some new wind in its sails, as their flagship brands have been losing popularity recently.

About Throne and Liberty

The game itself was originally intended to be another installment of the Lineage series. Over time, however, it evolved into a separate IP. The world heard about this title thanks to a very well-received trailer, which was seen by millions of viewers.

Throne and Liberty is to be characterized by high mobility of characters. This effect was achieved by using a grappling hook to move and fight. In addition, weather effects are to have a significant impact on gameplay. Players will also face giant opponents.

The game is expected to be released later this year.
