Android Games on Windows; Google Play Games Beta Launches

Google Play Games app, available for a long time in Google Play, is finally coming to Windows PCs. Users will be able to play games known from Android on their PCs.

It is worth noting that the app is not available worldwide at this time. It has made its way to users in South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan, who can join the beta testing. From the original specs for Google Play Games, it appears that the app will enable us to intuitively switch between different devices thanks to built-in synchronization. This means that players will be able to freely transfer their progress from their smartphone to their Windows PC and vice versa. Owners of macOS devices must arm themselves with patience. Windows users, on the other hand, must not forget to meet the system equirements, otherwise they will not join the beta tests.

Google Play Games is an application that first appeared on Android phones. It is mainly used to synchronize the progress of the games assigned to an account, collect information about the achievements earned and share them with our friends. With the arrival of Google Play Games on the MS Store, users will be able to play games known from smartphones on their PCs while keeping their progress.

Google Play Games system requirements:

  • Windows 10;
  • SSD drive and 20 GB of free space;
  • 8 GB RAM;
  • GPU for games;
  • 8-core processor.

These requirements may seem a bit excessive, but it should be remembered that Google Play Games tests are just starting and Americans prefer to make sure that users will be equipped with powerful computers. At the moment it is not known when the service will appear in other countries. Google has only confirmed that the official launch date will be at different times depending on the region. The list of launch titles also remains a mystery. For now, gamers in South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan can check out Google Play Games with titles such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Summoners War, State of Survival and Three Kingdoms Tactics. It is possible that when beta tests launch in other countries, more games will appear in the service.

The appearance of the official Google Play Games app on Windows will probably supplant competing solutions such as BlueStacks or Nox Player, which are currently used to emulate Android on PCs running Microsoft's system. For now, the creators of these emulators can sleep well, but at the time of the official launch of the solution from Google, their functioning will be pointless. Of course, assuming the official app will work satisfactorily and meet the expectations of users around the world.
