IN A NUTSHELL:
- According to rumors, Arkane Studios is working on a dark game about vampires;
- The game is codenamed Omen and is to be announced during this year's E3 with launch planned for next spring.
A rumor has surfaced on the ResetEra forums, suggesting that developers at Arkane Studios - creators of the latest installment of Prey and the Dishonored series, among others - are working on a new IP. It is to be codenamed Omen, feature a dark atmosphere and have something to do with vampires. The game will reportedly be announced during this year's E3. The expected release date is spring 2022.
The same source revealed an interesting detail about the RPG Starfield created by Bethesda Game Studios. According to the leak it is supposed to offer mechanics allowing for free space exploration and in this respect resemble such titles as Outer Wilds or No Man's Sky. Thus, the game will be closer to the aforementioned titles than, for example, to Mass Effect series, which seems quite likely given the developers' experience up to this point - creating open world games (in this case, several worlds) is their forte.
The last - so far - title of Arkane Studios was Prey, released in 2017. The company is also working on the crazy action game Deathloop, which is coming to PC and PlayStation 5. It should be noted that if Omen will indeed be announced soon, it will most likely be released exclusively on PC and Xbox consoles - last fall, Microsoft acquired ZeniMax Media, which owns Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks, among others.
Finally, it's worth noting that the above information is just unconfirmed rumors and should be treated as such.
