The developers of Battlefield 6 are preparing important changes to a certain element of the online shooter. EA DICE wants to please both old-timers and the Gen Z.
Battlefield 6, which came out less than two weeks ago, has already attracted millions of players. Most of them are loving the gameplay, with 75% of all reviews on Steam being positive. However, there are also people criticizing some elements of the latest title from EA DICE, including the campaign and small maps.
The devs are not ignoring the fan feedback and are already outlining which major issues they'll tackle first. Besides changes to the progression system, the creators plan to adjust a part of the game to make both long-time fans and Gen Z players, who prefer a faster-paced experience, happy.
As noted by one player, during the beta tests of Battlefield 6, the character movement (including running speed and jump momentum) was most appreciated by younger audiences. When this element was slightly nerfed in the full version of the game, it appealed more to older "veterans," leading this fan to wonder if a middle-ground solution could fully satisfy both groups. A representative from EA DICE assured that the team is already working on such a change:
We're looking at adjustments for sure [regarding character movement] to find a good in-between. We already have some changes that are cooking on our side and monitoring the feedback for more.
At the same time, the developer revealed that the creators of BF 6 don't want to change the character movement speed but rather focus on cosmetic changes. These changes are expected to be more related to animations than physics, which have a greater impact on gameplay.
Besides improving the movement itself, the creators also plan to tweak the aiming deviation system. According to fans, it is quite "exaggerated," although not to the extent that it significantly spoils the experience. However, we don't know when the planned changes will be implemented in the game.
