Biomutant Will Launch Before April

Report of the Embracer Group holding company suggests that THQ Nordic is planning to release Biomutant later this fiscal year, which ends on March 31.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Embracer Group's report summarizing 2020 suggests that Biomutant will make its debut within this fiscal year;
  • This means the game must launch before March 2021.

Biomutant is a game that has been suspended in the so-called calendar vacuum for several years now. Initially, it was supposed to be released in 2019, but then, after successive delays, it has yet to launch. It's January 2021, and we still don't know a tangible release date of Experiment 101's work.

However, if we believe the annual report of the Swedish holding company Embracer Group (owner of THQ Nordic, the company responsible for Biomutant) available on Cision News, the game will come out this fiscal year, i.e. by the end of March 2021. It's a relatively short term, so it's strange that we haven't received any details about the actual release date so far.

Why is the fact a little bit worrying? Admittedly, recent years have provided us with quite a lot of trailers and gameplay materials, but they weren't exactly a consistent marketing campaign for a game that is supposed to be one of the most important THQ Nordic projects planned for 2021. Will it be possible to advertise the title adequately in less than 3 months? We will see.

Our editors have clearly declared that they are looking forward to Biomutant. It is on the 9th position of the most anticipated hits of the next 12 months. You can read the rest of the list here. We support Experiment 101 not only because we like RPGs of all kinds. We appreciate original concepts and styles, and in this case we can expect a really interesting experiment with the narrative system and open-world exploration. The game will be released on PC, PS4 and XONE. The creators also assure that it will launch on PS5 and XSX/S.
