Will it be possible to play Wuchang Fallen Feathers in coop and multiplayer mode? You can find out about it here.
If you are reading this article, you are probably familiar with the concept of soulslikes, which are known for their high level of difficulty. No wonder, there are sometimes questions about whether a game in this genre offers a co-op or multiplayer mode. This is not only because for many it's more fun to play with other people, but also some players who are just starting their soulslike adventure are afraid that they might not complete the game alone. The games from FromSoftware such as Dark Souls series, Elden Ring and Bloodborne offer this possibility (at least to some extent). However, in productions from many other studios, such as in Lies of P, Mortal Shell or Black Myth Wukong, you won't experience this. With the upcoming Wuchang Fallen Feathers release (July 24, 2025), many players are curious whether here you will have the opportunity to play with friends. Will we be able to enjoy coop or any kind of multiplayer in WFF?
If you are a player who live in hope that you will be able to go through the game with your friends, or play multiplayer mode with other players, we have sad news for you. Unfortunately, you will not experience a coop or multiplayer mode in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. This title is a single player game.
Are there any chances for a multiplayer mode to appear in the future? They are rather low. The game was developed from the beginning with balance and single-player experience in mind. Adding a coop mode (or any other kind of multiplayer) would mean that some locations or bosses might not offer proper experience anymore.
Does this mean that Wuchang Fallen Feathers will be a bad game? Absolutely not. The developers' focus on providing gameplay suitable for a single player. It means that the balance of enemies and level design should be tailored to one person, offering fair, yet challenging experience (we will see if it will be true after release). However, that being said, if you really hope to play a soulslike game with others, you need to find a different one.
