The vampire themed Season of Blood has reached Diablo 4 and it brought a lot of additional content to the game. Among enhancements and bugfixes, it also introduced a new battle pass. This seems to be already a standard with long living titles, or so called GaaS (Game as a Service). Season 2 offers 3 tiers of Battle Pass – Free, Premium ($10) and Accelerated ($25). If you decided to choose one of the paid tiers, you might be unpleasantly surprised by error code 700004 while trying to activate it. What does it mean? Can anything be done about it? Let’s dive deeper.

Code 700004 in Diablo 4 Season of Blood explained

Season of Blood in Diablo 4 changed a lot of in terms of game balance and progression. Players were excited to jump into the fray and explore, while also levelling up Battle Pass on the way. Some even went for a paid one to be surprised by error code 700004 reading “This season has ended and it’s Battle Pass can no longer be activated. Log out to access the new season.” (original spelling maintained).

It shouldn’t be a surprise that logging out and in again doesn’t fix the problem despite of what the error message says. The error happens whether you play on Steam or using Battle.net directly. The bad news doesn’t end here, as so far there is nothing that can be done about it.

Since there is a lot of people reporting the same problem, we can expect Blizzard to address this issue quickly. Submitting a ticket to the developers describing your issue is also a valid option, though it will not change the fact that waiting for an official fix is the only choice for now.
