Cyberpunk 2077 is an action RPG from Polish studio CD Projekt RED, in which we play the role of a young cyberpunk called V. In the game, you can perform a variety of tasks, traverse the Night City and, of course, fight enemies. September 26 marked the debut of the Phantom Liberty DLC, which once again attracted many fans to the game, although it was not without some technical problems. If you've experienced them, you've surely noticed that when performing new and old tasks, some of the inconveniences can be dealt with, for example, by hacking. In this guide you will learn what the problem with door hacking is and how to get rid of it..

Cyberpunk 2077 - Can't Hack Door Problem

Some players complain that they can't open certain doors that need to be hacked. An example is one of the first missions; in it we have to find a woman named Sandra Dorsett. In order to get into the apartment where she is located, we need to hack the door. To do so, hold down Tab on the keyboard or press Caps Lock (or the corresponding button on the controller), if you do not want to hold the button all the time, look at the door and select the hack responsible for opening them.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Can't Hack Door Bug

If, despite following the above instructions, you still can't hack the door, you've probably encountered a bug. At first, try restarting the game, and if that doesn't help, perform a file verification or reinstall Cyberpunk.

Wanting to reinstall the game, you must remember to thoroughly remove the game from your computer. Otherwise the old files may interfere with the new installation. It is also a good idea to make a copy of the save game files beforehand. You can find instructions on how to do this on the game's support website.

  1. You can find the saves here: %userprofile%\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077.
  2. Next, Disable Steam Cloud for Cyberpunk 2077.
  3. After uninstalling the title, delete the folders located in:

%userprofile%\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\ [Cyberpunk folder]

%userprofile%\AppData\Local\ [REDEngine and CD Projekt Red folder]

After that, restart the computer and install Cyberpunk 2077 on an SSD.

In order to verify the game files on Steam, right click on Cyberpunk 2077, go to properties, then to the tab installed files and select check integrity of game files.

In the case of GOG select the game and click on the icon located just to the right of the play button. Then hover over the manage installationand then verify/repair.
