New Mod Does Wonders to Cyberpunk 2077's Performance

Cyberpunk 2077 has received a new mod that significantly improves the game's performance. The mod titled The Heavily Customized Optimization is able to significantly increase the frame rate.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • A new mod that improves the performance of Cyberpunk 2077 has been released;
  • The mod increases the number of fps at the expense of draw distance;
  • It was created with older hardware in mind.

Despite official patches, Cyberpunk 2077 is still struggling with big issues. Modders took fixing some of them on themselves, changing the game settings in a bid to improve its performance. Another suggestion is a mod called The Heavily Customized Optimization. With the help of changes to draw distance and some smaller improvements, it significantly increases the number of fps. The creator boasts of even doubling them. The description of the mod, however, stipulates that it works best on hardware using NVIDIA GPU.

Some changes introduced by The Heavily Customized Optimization are based on another mod called General Optimization. General Optimization was a mod that disabled some game features that did not significantly affect the quality of gameplay but improved the performance of Cyberpunk. The new mod goes even further with this idea and, according to the creator, enables us to gain up to 30 fps. While reviewing the comments of the players who have used it, it should be pointed out that it helps only some of them. The mod was created for older hardware that can't cope with Cyberpunk 2077, and it's on such PC that the fps increase will be most noticeable. Owners of high-end hardware may be disappointed with the small impact of the mod on their game experience. The mod can be downloaded from Nexus Mods.
