Your Diablo 4 Season 1 Characters Await Impending Retirement

Season 1 in Diablo 4 is inevitably coming to an end, and this means that some characters will permanently depart for the Eternal Realm server.

We recently learned details of the upcoming 2nd season in Diablo 4, which will introduce, among other things, vampiric storyline.

In this regard, it is worth recalling that in just 11 days the characters created within the first season, the so-called, Season of Malignant, will be automatically transferred to the server called Eternal Realm.

Thus, all items that were in the cache of a season character will be transferred to a new cache, which can only be accessed from the Eternal Realm.

Importantly, the items in this cache will be stored only until the end of Season 2, that is, roughly until mid-February. With the end of the vampiric event, they will disappear permanently.

Eternal reputation

Fortunately, the first season's exploration will prove not to be entirely useless with regard to the upcoming event.

For, as Blizzard announced, in addition to the previously introduced cross-season progression of Lilith shrines, also all reputation points earned during the current series will carry over to future seasons. The same will apply to side quests.

What's more, players who haven't completed the storyline before will be able to skip the campaign altogether for the remaining characters in the new season after completing the prologue.

Retired hero

Unlike in Diablo 2 Resurrected, where we could keep a character's appearance and name from season to season, in Diablo 4 with the end of the periodic event, our hero will go on a well-deserved "retirement" to the Eternal Realm, where with truncated capabilities they will be able to continue slicing and dicing their opponents.

Admittedly, all the changes like "quality of life" and class balance that will appear in season 2 will affect the Eternal Realm, but "retired" avatars will not be able to wield seasonal powers.

So what elements of a seasonal character (besides the character itself) will go to the Eternal Ream?

Here's the list:

  • all items in the inventory or cache, as well as gold, obols and crafting materials;
  • the option to skip the campaign (available after completing the prologue);
  • bonuses to Lilith's Altars stats;
  • discovered areas of the map;
  • Renown rewards (XP, potion capacity, skill points, Paragon points);
  • transmogs of armor and weapons;
  • 10 uncovered non-capital region landmarks (2 per region).

Thus, Malignant Hearts, Codex of Power Aspects or partial campaign progress will not be transferred to the basic gameplay mode.

Let me remind you that Season of Blood in Diablo 4 will start on October 17. On the same day the game will be released on Steam.
