Dying Light: Hellraid Like Doom; New Update Will Add a Shotgun [UPDATED]

Techland has announced the final update to Dying Light: Hellraid. It will enable us to explore the catacombs and battle the undead with a shotgun in hand.

Update: Described below, patch 1.49 for Dying Light is now available. Significantly, in addition to the Hellraid DLC it also offers improvements to the base game - such as the option to play at 60 fps at 936p on Xbox Series S. The full list of changes can be found here.

Techland has announced that the latest update for Dying Light: Hellraid - expansion of the 2015 hit - will soon be released.

As you may recall, the action of the DLC takes place in underground crypts, where we have to face various kinds of undead creatures, pulled straight from a fantasy world. Until now, our tools of murder were primarily a variety of melee weapons. After the update players will get their hands on a shotgun.

Be like Doomguy

In the promotional material for the upcoming patch we can see the new toy in action. Developers gave it the graceful name Deathbringer and the name is telling. It's main mission: to spread death among the monsters that stand in our way.

Thus, we can be tempted to make a timid comparison with Doom, where the shotgun (also double-barreled) was one of the basic weapons for the extermination of hellspawn.

Developers ensure that in addition to the shotgun, the update will bring a lot of small QoL improvements, such as changes to the economy, the elimination of bugs and innovations in terms of weapons (such as adding a button to look at the weapon).

Perhaps the latest patch will change the reception of the DLC a bit, which remains cold on Steam - the expansion can "boast" only 40% positive reviews. If anyone has not had contact with Hellraid yet it will probably be the best opportunity for that - especially that the DLC currently costs less than $4.
