EA Play Live 2022 Won't Take Place; Electronic Arts Has Other Plans

Electronic Arts has decided not to hold the EA Play Live presentation this year.

Electronic Arts announced that this year there will be no EA Play Live, a show during which the publisher reveals new games and announces plans for the development of already released titles.

Instead of one big presentation, the company intends to hold separate shows for each of its projects. The publisher appreciates the role of previous editions of EA Play Live, but, as it explains, in 2022 it was not possible to reveal all these novelties during a single presentation for various reasons.

It's hard to draw any conclusions from the publisher's decision. It can be attributed to problems with the progress of some of the projects, but just as well Electronic Arts may have decided that a better marketing approach would be smaller presentations, in which the company would focus fully on a particular title.

It's worth noting that this year's event was never officially announced, so we can't talk about canceling per se. However, everyone expected that in 2022 EA Play Live will be organized once again, so the news is quite a surprise.

As for other major industry events, we already know that this year's edition of E3 is going to be held (earlier there were suggestions that it will be canceled), although again it will only take place online. In turn, gamescom 2022 will return to the old, physical formula, which will be accompanied by online events.
