EA decided not to follow the Nintendo path and won't increase the price of its games. The company has announced that the standard edition of Battlefield 6 will cost $70.
In the past few months, a lot of people have been upset about the rising prices of games. Many players expected that Battlefield 6 would be the next example of this, but fortunately, we already know that this won't be the case.
Electronic Arts has high hopes for Battlefield 6, and the title must repair the franchise's reputation after the cool reception of BF2042. Not raising the price to $80 is the right decision because EA doesn't want to discourage a lot of potential buyers from playing the game right from the start.
Players have a strong negative reaction to increasing game prices. Nintendo managed to push this through thanks to the excitement surrounding the release of Switch 2, and as a result, for the biggest productions, such as Mario Kart World, we have to pay $79.99. The same "trick" didn't work for Microsoft, which recently had to back down from the price increase of The Outer Worlds 2.
The EA financial report covered the period from April 1 to June 30, 2025.
