Epic Games Store Blocks Accounts That Buy Too Many Games Too Fast

Epic Games Store users who have shopped too much in a short space of time are in for an unpleasant surprise – the store's anti-piracy system can block their account. If you've had a similar problem, you should contact the EGS support.

Epic Games Store will prevent you from creating a "pile of shame".

Problems related to the Epic Mega Room continue. The first big sale at the Epic Games Store caused a lot of controversy right from the start. First Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 disappeared from the store at the request of the creators, and then Borderlands 3 shared a similar fate. In both cases, the point was naturally that the productions had been discounted before their release, which could have had a negative impact on their sales when they appeared on the shelves.

If you think that understatements between developers, publishers, and employees of Epic Games Store were absurd, listen to this. As Game Revolution reports, if you make "too much" purchases during the sale, your account will be blocked before you can buy more. The whole situation was made public through Twitter and the streamer Patrick Boivin commented on it and hammered Epic Games after he was no longer able to make new transactions after purchasing five games.

Game Revolution journalists asked Nick Chester, an Epic Games PR worker, about the reasons for this. He replied that blocking wallets after making too many purchases is a result of the store's anti-piracy policy. He also recommended that players who have a problem with their blocked account should contact technical support. It's also worth noting that Epic Games Store still doesn't have the option to add items to your cart, which means players have to buy titles one by one. This is probably what makes the website's system consider numerous transactions as a criminal offence. Anyway, another image flop will definitely not help the store to compete with Steam.
