I hope the game is better than Coutinho's last season...

IGN published on YouTube the first gameplay from eFootball game PES 2020 - the latest installment of the popular Pro Evolution Soccer series of football simulators, announced during E3 2019. As it happens in the case of games dedicated to football, before the launch, we can hear that the production will be even closer to realism. PES 2020 is to provide new dribbling techniques (called fine dribbling), better impact mechanics and improved ball physics. Naturally, Konami swears that many experts from the football world have been asked for their opinions during the development process. Below you can see how it all looks in action.

One of the changes discussed by Konami's Andre Bronzoni is the refreshment of the main menu, which is supposed to be modern and full of colors. He also emphasized that it was a pleasure for the whole studio to work with FC Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta, who helped with the design of the plays. We also know that the face of this year's "Legendary Edition" will be Ronaldinho. The graphic design, typical of the series, is very impressive. Character models are as sharp as Jaap Stam or Roy Keane. The stands look "alive", which only increases the feeling of playing a real match.

Why eFootball?

You may be wondering why the devs decided to change the name of their series. Instead of the full name (Pro Evolution Soccer) they used the popular shortcut PES, not to mention the "eFootball" prefix. The producers want to emphasize esports competitions. Has the FIFA series finally found a competitor?

It is also worth to notice, that creators made the entire pre-match ceremony look like pulled straight out of TV. But let's focus on the game itself. Konami ensures (as every year) that the artificial intelligence of the players will be improved. In this respect we have to take the developers' word for it, because the published gameplay doesn't prove much. The game's launch is scheduled for September 10 this year. The title will go to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
