We are still a week away from the release of The Last of Us: Part II, the latest game by Naughty Dog. However, enough reviews have already been published on the web to enable us to assess how the game was received by the industry media.
On Metacritic, TLoU2 has an average rating of 96%. This is a great result, outstripping even the achievements of the first The Last of Us and The Last of Us: Remastered, which scored 95%. The sequel also delighted our editor, who gave it 10/10.
Here are some sample review scores:
As you can see, the game evokes almost universal admiration. The last game that was so warmly received was Red Dead Redemption 2.
The reviewers praise The Last of Us: Part II for a long and varied story campaign with interesting characters and a great story. The editors also appreciate the improvements in gameplay and level design compared to the first part. There are few somewhat more critical reviews, and the accusations in them boil down to an overall subjective evaluation of the script.
The Last of Us: Part II is a PlayStation 4 exclusive and will launch on June 19 this year.
