The Coiled Captors DLC for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has received an extremely cold reception. Players even claim that it is the worst DLC in Gearbox's history.
The team at Gearbox clearly did something wrong with the first DLC for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. The Coiled Captors expansion, released two days ago, is described by many players as the worst DLC in the studio's history.
Player complaints are numerous:
The size and quality of the DLC has been very badly received by the community. The game's forum on Reddit is filled with posts from people regretting the purchase of the Season Pass, which is supposed to offer a total of four DLCs.
The reception of the DLC is worsened by the good record of the franchise. Expansions for Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3 were big, providing long hours of high quality fun and offering many new locations, enemies and bosses. Gearbox has accustomed its fans to delivering quality content and it is hardly surprising that fans reacted very badly when the team failed to meet these expectations.
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was released on March 25, this year, on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. The PC version is currently available exclusively on Epic Games Store. This service does not offer a player rating feature, which in this case proved to be a bliss Gearbox, as Coiled Captors would likely have been crushed in user reviews like on Steam.
