PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers have received access to a trial version of God of War: Ragnarok. It enables you to play for three hours. For now, the offer applies only to North America, but should be extended to Europe soon.
God of War: Ragnarok, one of the best games of 2022 (nominated, for example, for The Game Awards and D.I.C.E. award), received a demo version today. PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can play the full version of the game for three hours on both the PS4 and PS5 consoles. For now, the offer is only available to North American users, but it is likely that PS Plus Premium subscribers from other parts of the world will also get access to it soon.
A three-hour demo seems quite long by the standards of this service. Most titles offer subscribers one or two hours of playtime, although there are some with five-hour trial versions, such as Horizon: Forbidden West or Cyberpunk 2077 (on the other hand - a similar EA Play subscription provides 10-hour "trials" on virtually every game covered, and has done so since its debut).
Premium is one of three PS Plus subscription plans available on Sony consoles. In addition to trial versions, it also offers a catalog of classic games streamed in the cloud, as well as the benefits of cheaper PS Plus Extra and Essential (including access to online features, games to pick up every month or discounts on selected titles in PS Store).
Recently, the developers of God of War: Ragnarok have announced that the game has reached 11 million people. The trial version, which will enables us to taste the nearly 25-hour-long story of Kratos and Atreus (via HowLongToBeat), may convince more players to buy.
