Cross-gen Save File Transfer Now Available in GTA 5

The release of GTA V on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S is approaching and you can start transferring saves from last-gen consoles starting today.

A month ago we learned the exact release date of the next-gen edition of GTA V. Refreshed version of the game along with its online mode will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S on March 15. In today's official announcement Rockstar provided information on the transfer of story progress and characters from GTA Online from last-gen consoles.

Save file transfer

PS4 and Xbox One owners can transfer their progress to PS5 and Xbox Series X and S consoles. Players can begin the migration by uploading their data to Rockstar Games Social Club. Simply go to the "Game" tab in the pause menu and select "Upload Saved Game." The save is available for download for 90 days, with only one save per platform.

GTA V and GTA Online for current-gen consoles will be available digitally beginning with March 15 through the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. Preload and pre-orders will begin on March 8. A physical release is scheduled for April, but there is no exact release date yet.
