Players Fear Censorship in GTA 5 Remaster

A discussion has erupted on Reddit about possible censorship in the revamped version of GTA V, which is headed for next-gen consoles. The reason for the outrage is the new trailer.

The GTA series, and especially its fifth installment, does not need to be introduced to anyone. As we know, quite recently on the last week's PlayStation Showcase, we got a trailer for the refreshed version of the game for the PS5 console. The video caused a lot of dissatisfaction among the players waiting for a new installment, who once again received the same and this time with suspicion of censorship to boot.

The discussion about censorship in the game began, as it often happens, on Reddit, where one of the users noticed that the new trailer is slightly different from the one that presented the PC version of GTA V. One detail that didn't escape the sharp eye of Reddit user known as Darth_Daver123, is a poster with a scantily dressed woman, which did not appear in the trailer of the refreshed version. You can see the difference below.

What's more, it's not the only change from the old PC trailer. Many other users voiced their own discoveries under the post, including a gamer who pointed out another difference between the trailers. The new one also lacks beer bottles.

"Yeah, they removed the beer bottles on Lester's desk in this trailer as well. Unfortunately this doesn't impress me because a rumor about the 3D trilogy remaster said the game will change some content to suit "modern audiences". I guess they will do the same on GTA V "Expanded & Enhanced". This version in my opinion should be called "Downgraded Edition", " writes user hoodedshiba.

As you know, the content of GTA V doesn't always go hand in hand with the rules of YouTube, on which the trailer was posted. However, you shouldn't go to extremes and accuse the game of censorship because two details were removed from a promo material. That's what a lot of people who have come to Rockstar's defence seem to think, explaining the changes to the trailer with the issue of adjusting it to current YouTube regulations, where rules on stimulants and erotic content are quite strict. However, whether the game will really be censored, we will find out only after release, which will take place in March next year.
