GTA Online gets laser weapons, double exp and reduced prices
GTA Online offers some new stuff this week - laser guns, double exp rates for certain events and reduced prices of some nifty items.
Although in theory the action of GTA Online, the extremely popular online module of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V, takes place in a world similar to our own, sometimes there were some futuristic elements mixed in. Just to mention the light cycles from Tron more than two years ago. The latest in-game attraction falls into the same category – the developers have added two new weapons: the Unholy Hellbringer and the Widowmaker, that shoot laser beams.
Both these futuristic weapons, which are referred to as "exclusive weapons of the Republican Space Rangers" in the official announcement, can be purchased in Ammu-Nation stores inside the game. However, they do not come cheap. For example, the Widomaker costs as much as $499,000. On the other hand, the weapons do not require ammunition, which is an unquestionable advantage.
This is not the end of attractions waiting for GTA Online players this week. Until January 14 you will be able to gain double experience and cash prizes for participating in Arena War Series, which debuted at the beginning of last month, and three other vehicle-based competition modes - Hasta La Vista, Vehicle Vendetta and The Vespucci Job. What’s more in this period the sale of goods from motorcycle factories will yield double income.
