During the last Nintendo Direct, it was confirmed that Split Fiction will be released on Switch 2. The game will be available for the console's launch, which will take place on June 5.
Hazelight is back with another well-received co-op action-adventure game. Split Fiction was released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S yesterday. Players using the Switch, however, may feel excluded. But will this change in the future?
Hazelight has released three games until now. So, let’s take a look at their console port history and try to estimate what the chances are for the Switch version.
There is a possibility that Split Fiction will be available on Nintendo’s console, although this might not occur in the near future.
However, the situation with Nintendo Switch looks quite complicated right now. As we know, the Switch 2 will be released this year, so very soon. If the developers decide to port their game to Nintendo’s platform, they have two devices to pick from. Of course, the original console has a much bigger playerbase, but the upcoming handheld will be more powerful. It's hard to predict what the developers' choice would be. In theory, backward compatibility between these two devices (which was confirmed by Nintendo) is also a possibility, however, details on its implementation have not yet been revealed. So, it remains to wait for further news.
