Mafia: The Old Country has been showcased in a new trailer. The fourth installment in the series increasingly resembles adventure titles in the style of the Uncharted or Tomb Raider series.
The creators of Mafia: The Old Country are building up the excitement before the upcoming release of the gangster game. Another trailer for the fourth installment of the popular series has been released online. The new game from Hangar 13 studio seems to be taking a lot of inspiration from action-adventure games like the Uncharted series.
Since last year, we know that Mafia: The Old Country will not follow in the footsteps of the poorly received third installment. The new game trailer is packed with action scenes - you can't help but wonder: what's not in there? Car and horse chases. Shootouts, hand-to-hand combat, assassinations from hiding. Add to this the chases through Sicilian streets and acrobatic jumps on buildings, which Lara Croft or Nathan Drake wouldn't be ashamed of. It looks interesting overall, but it's hard to see it as a return to the series' roots. Enzo's adventures seem to be stepping into a territory where the competition won't be GTA 6, but action-adventure games.
The release of Mafia: The Old Country is scheduled for August 8th this year. The title is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
