No Man's Sky Origins Adds the Anticipated Sand Worms

No Man's Sky just got another major update. Origins introduces a number of fixes and improvements to the game, including changes to flora and fauna. If you've been following the game for a long time, you'll probably be happy to know that the anticipated sand worms have finally become reality.

The Origins update will take us to completely different planets!

No Man's Sky just got another big update. "Big" is almost an understatement, as the game has doubled its content. After so many years, did the title finally become what Hello Games promised? What did we get with the Origins update?

Cosmic fauna and flora

Those who were beginning to be bored with the current "diversity" of planets have a reason to be happy. From now on, the space simulator will welcome us with completely new vegetation and biomes. There is also additional fauna. There are huge beetles and butterflies waiting for us, and also... sand worms. Yes, the sand worms, expected since the first announcements, finally appeared in the game. In an interview for Eurogamer, the head of Hello Games, Sean Murray, said that underground worms are something that his team has been working on for a long time, but so far they have not been good enough to add to the game. It was only when Origins update was to be released that a satisfactory solution was found. So beware! A moment of inattention and a sand worm will devour you in the blink of an eye!

Planets and stars

Due to the "natural" changes, the planets themselves look a little different. The team working on the game has paid some attention to the mountains and other areas, which will now rise to a completely different level. However, it was pointed out that the existing worlds have not undergone any violent revolutions, which means that our bases are safe. The weather system has also been enriched. Now we can get hit by a lightning, torn by a tornado or even crushed by a meteorite. If we can survive the clash with nature, we will have a chance to visit the new star systems.

The whole thing should also look better in terms of graphics. Thanks to the improved rendering system, the already stunning landscapes will become even more beautiful. The color palette used by the game when generating new planets has also been expanded. Ready to explore?

No Man's Sky has definitely come a long way, and the latest update probably already fulfills all the promises made before the release. Have you forgiven the developers' initial stumbles, or are you still resentful?
