When discussing iconic Disney movies, it’s impossible to overlook Pirates of the Caribbean - particularly the original trilogy, which served as many viewers’ first taste of adventure films. Fans still fondly remember the soundtrack, Jack Sparrow’s humor, and the epic sea battles - especially the thrilling finale aboard the Flying Dutchman.

A dedicated LEGO fan decided to breathe new life into the cursed ship by recreating it in LEGO form. Gathering ten thousand fans was simply a formality.

Welcome to the Flying Dutchman!

The project was created by TrumanBricks, who combined his passion for building with his love for Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End. The result is a set depicting the final battle on Davy Jones’ cursed ship - a model that, unlike the Black Pearl, has yet to receive an official LEGO release.

The fan set includes 1,602 pieces, featuring eight mini-figures of key characters from the movie - allowing fans to recreate the final battle. Of course, the set wouldn't be complete without Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann. The ship itself is packed with references to the series - the creator even included a kraken decoration and the captain’s pipe organ!

The Flying Dutchman entered the LEGO Ideas contest on June 27th, and in just over a month, it quickly reached the 10,000-vote threshold. This means LEGO will have to consider the set when planning future releases.

Are you looking forward to Davy Jones’s ship? If you’re not building anything at the moment, it’s worth checking out other LEGO sets - like Super Destroyer model from Helldivers 2 or the LEGO Game Boy tribute set.
