Platige Image Will Create Original Games and TV Series

Platige Image has ambitious development plans for the coming years. Among other things, the company wants to create its own games, series, and feature films.

The Polish studio Platige Image, with Tomasz Baginski at the helm as creative director, has so far been known mainly for creating short animations and CG scenes for commercials and other developers' projects. According to company's plans [in Polish], this is soon to change.

According to the company's strategy for 2021-2025, Platige Image wants to produce its own video games. Various business models are being considered, including creating such projects on one's own, setting up special-purpose companies with other developers, as well as co-productions.

Besides games, Platige Image also intends to create TV series and feature films. The company will not limit itself to animated productions. Live-action works are also planned.

The company justifies this strategy by the dynamic development of the video game market and the film and TV series industry (especially streaming platforms). The company believes that it has the experience and technologies that will enable it to achieve success in these categories.

It does not mean that Platige Image is going to abandon short 3D animations, e.g. for games or commercials. It will still be the key area of the company's operations. It plans to increase investments in this area as well as to develop special effects for films and TV series. Moreover, the company wants to expand the range of its services, including the so-called virtual sets, a solution popularized by The Mandalorian, where instead of the traditional static green screens, LCD screens are used to display early versions of CGI sets.

The realization of these ambitious plans will not come cheap, so the studio is considering, among other things, issuing shares to new investors.
