One of last year's hits, and a competitor to games such as Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2, received a new trailer yesterday. In the nearly 3-minute video, the developers from Eleventh Hour Games briefly presented the new features coming to Last Epoch in the 2nd season. These are looking really good, so fans of the hack-and-slash genre can already start rubbing their hands in anticipation.

Last Epoch Season 2 - new features

The second season of The Last Epoch has been named "Tombs of the Erased," and its release date is set for April 2 at 9:00 a.m. PT. We haven't yet received a detailed description of the changes, but the trailer reveals the most important ones, and there are really a lot of them.

  1. The Woven, a new faction - will be linked to a special tree and will offer access to more advanced options for obtaining loot.
  2. Tombs of The Erased - procedurally generated side zones, where we will meet new enemies and bosses. Cemeteries related to them will also be added, which we will find on the Monolith map.
  3. Monolith of Fate expansion - new items will allow us to "weave echo webs" ourselves. Besides, the developers will add new goals and bosses, as well as update the existing echoes.
  4. Rework of the Guard class - changes will include many basic skills, as well as the way of wielding a two-handed weapon with a shield.
  5. The Marksman class will receive a completely new skill.
  6. The crafting system will be improved by adding new options or materials. We will be able to use, for instance, items from the set to obtain special fragments.
  7. Many new unique items.
  8. Quality of life improvements - the ability to change specializations, add tabs in the inventory, and control the character using WASD.

All the new features have been presented quite generally for now, and more details will most likely be revealed in the coming days. Let's hope that this will be enough for players to return to Last Epoch, which is currently not doing very well. Although the game director thinks otherwise, claiming that "the game is far from death."

Last Epoch is available exclusively on PC.
