Project xCloud Coming to PC and Other Devices

Microsoft is planning intensive development of the Project xCloud streaming platform. The test version of the service will feature several dozen new games. Next year, the platform will also be available to PC owners with Windows 10. It will be possible to play the game with the use of various wireless controllers.

Microsoft has ambitious plans for xCloud.

During the ongoing X019 event in London, Microsoft announced progress in the development of the Project xCloud streaming platform, which some see as one of Google Stadia's most serious competitors. Information was provided on the games that are available to testers, and that next year the service will be available on PC with Windows 10 (currently you can play on Android devices). Talks are also underway to port Project xCloud to other platforms. Interestingly, it will be possible to play using various wireless controllers - in addition to the Xbox One controller, the platform will also work with Razer devices and... Dualshock 4.

In addition, the test version of Project xCloud will feature over fifty new titles. Many of them are titles from third-party companies, but in many cases they will be high-profile positions, such as Devil May Cry 5, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Darksiders 3, World War Z, WRC 7, Hitman, Tekken 7 or Soulcalibur VI. The library will also be joined by an extensive catalogue of games from Microsoft's dev teams, including Gears 5, Forza Horizon 4, Halo Wars 2, State of Decay 2 and Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition.

Today, Microsoft is planning to send another series of invitations to the test program of the service (and it will certainly not be the last one). Next year, Project xCloud will be introduced to other markets such as Canada, Japan, India, and Western Europe. The key to the development of the platform lies in its flexibility and smoothness. Moving games to the cloud does not require any work on the part of developers (Microsoft announced that over 3.5 thousand titles from Xbox One, as well as 1.9 thousand currently being developed run on xCloud). The players can count on Xbox One to sync their achievements and saved game states with Xbox One - you won't have to start from scratch to play in xCloud.

In 2020, players will be given the opportunity to play the games they own on Xbox One. The xCloud platform will also be included in the Xbox Game Pass service. Subscriptions to the test program (as well as a number of additional information about this streaming platform) can be found at this address.
