Resident Evil Chapter and Naraka: Bladepoint Among Steam Bestsellers

Last week's biggest Steam bestseller was the Resident Evil Chapter DLC for Dead by Daylight. The demo for Naraka: Bladepoint is driving pre-orders of the game, leading to good results.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Resident Evil Chapter DLC for Dead by Daylight is a real hit;
  2. The popularity of Naraka: Bladepoint demo is driving pre-orders;
  3. Guilty Gear: Strive is still doing great;
  4. Excellent debut of Wildermyth;
  5. pre-sales still high Battlefield 2042.

As every Monday, Valve released the weekly list of the biggest (by revenue) Steam bestsellers of the previous week. Once again, the list is quite surprising. The sales leader turned out to be a DLC released on June 15 - Resident Evil Chapter - for the asymmetrical multiplayer game Dead by Daylight. This success is all the more impressive that the DLC is rather cheap.

The game is currently experiencing a golden period. On the day of the DLC's release, it set a new activity record at 94,855 players on Steam. This is not due solely to the new DLC. For several weeks the popularity of Dead by Daylight has been growing at a steady pace. In May, the highest daily activity scores were 58.3% higher than in April this year.

The rest of the list is also interesting. The fighting game Guilty Gear: Strive, which was the sales leader in the previous list, is still doing very well. The standard edition of the project took second place, and the Deluxe edition - eighth.

It is also worth noting the success of Naraka: Bladepoint, an online battle royale game focusing on fighting with melee weapons. The game's pre-orders were the fourth biggest bestseller on Steam last week. The demo clearly helped the game, as it is pretty much an open beta. Thanks to it, the project made it to the top ten most popular titles on Valve's website.

The indie RPG Wildermyth also recorded a successful debut, taking sixth place. Before the release not many people paid attention to this title. However, it turned out to be a surprisingly innovative game with highly unusual narrative mechanics. PC Gamer gave the project a score of 90/100 in its review, stating that the solutions used in it deserve to drive the next decade of the RPG genre. Also the gamers are delighted - on Steam as many as 96% of user ratings are positive.

It should also be noted that Battlefield 2042 pre-orders are still high, taking seventh place this week, and fourth in the previous list. The shooter will be released in four months, but players reacted very well to the presentation of the project at this year's E3, which also led to a revival of several previous installments. The successful presentation at the fair (including the appearance of Jack Sparrow) is also probably responsible for the return of Sea of Thieves to the top 10.
