Developer From Sony Defends Starfield in 30 FPS

One of the developers of God of War: Ragnarok is defending Bethesda's decision to limit Starfield to 30 fps on Xbox. 'It's a choice,' the developer argues.

News that Starfield will run on Xbox Series X and S in just 30 FPS - on the former in 4K resolution, and on the latter in 1440p - strongly disgusted the gamers. This is also evident from comments on the Internet.

From the explanations given by Todd Howard and Phil Spencer, it seems that this is a deliberate design decision. Nevertheless, the community - having in mind the recent Redfall - became concerned about the technical condition of Starfield. Assurances from Matt Booty - one of the heads of Xbox Game Studios - that the game has fewer bugs than any other Bethesda game at launch, did not help much.

Now, Dannie Carlone - a developer from Santa Monica Studio (God of War: Ragnarok and others) specializing in the visual design of virtual worlds, has spoken in Microsoft's defense. In response to a comment from a Twitter user, Carlone wrote:

Despite these explanations, some gamers are still unhappy with Bethesda's decision. Will the quality of Starfield justify it? We will find out on September 6, 2023, when the title will be released on PC and XSX/S. Here you can check the game's system requirements.
