Steam Launch Hardly Successful - RDR2 on PC Still has Some Problems

Yesterday, Red Dead Redemption 2 debuted on Steam. It turns out, however, that the launch was not a success, because many players have problems with launching the game and its performance.

The launch of RDR2 on Steam wasn't very successful.

Yesterday, exactly 30 days after the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 in Epic Games Store, the game debuted on Steam. Unfortunately, just like a month ago, there were technical issues, which the players still complain about. Those who had hoped that by that time Rockstar Games would have dealt with all the problems on PC had just had a brutal reality check. It should be noted that the problems do not apply to everyone (similarly to the launch in EGS), although the scale of the problem is large, which can be seen in reviews of the game on Steam (63% positive).

At the very beginning it is worth knowing that the launch of the title on Steam will result in the simultaneous launch of Rockstar Games Launcher. This in turn means that players who cannot access their Rockstar Social Club account (which they have previously connected to Steam and now, for example, do not remember their password or changed their email address) are unable to play the game at all. It also happens that the launcher may not see the title after the purchase. In addition, the Rockstar client can simply shut down (supposedly here we just have to disconnect the controller before launching the game) and has a few bugs.

There are also still bugs during the game that were supposedly beeliminated, and many players complain about performance issues (fps drops, continuous loading screens). The number of active users on Steam (28,000 at the time of writing this message) is also not impressive, although it should be noted that in any case, the game appeared on PC a month ago, and those most interested in it probably managed to buy it at this point. It seems that PC players once again can only wait until the devs solve the most common problems. Let us hope that this will happen as soon as possible.
