Microsoft Fans Disappointed by Absence at TGA; Company Reassures

Microsoft has let go of The Game Awards 2022, much to the disappointment of fans. The vice president of the Xbox division tried to calm their fears.

The Game Awards 2022 was filled with new trailers and game announcements. However, the event turned out to be severely disappointing for owners of Xbox consoles. Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg decided to calm the gamers, assuring them that next year will be very fruitful.

  1. The event showcased a number of projects heading to Microsoft device, but did not reveal any new Microsoft games or show fresh footage of the Redmond giant's upcoming exclusives.
  2. This is all the more strange because Microsoft had something to show. Next year such games as Starfield, Redfall or Forza Motorsport are scheduled for. Probably in 2023 we will also see Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. So it was not a big problem to prepare new trailers for these titles for The Game Awards 2022.
  3. Ironically, the event was held at the Microsoft Theater facility, according to the name owned by the Redmond giant.
  4. Aaron Greenberg, acting vice president of the Xbox division, tried to reassure the gamers that next year will be exciting and company will soon show more of the projects planned for 2023..

These assurances are unlikely to work on the fans, especially since 2022 was a very disappointing year for them. Microsoft released only two new games this year in the form of As Dusk Falls and Pentiment. These are noteworthy adventure games, but they can hardly be described as super productions that could compete with Sony's blockbusters. Apart from them, the company focused mainly on DLCs and version 1.0 of Grounded, which debuted in early access in 2020.
