As if to sweeten the blow after the announced delay of Total War: Warhammer III, Creative Assembly presented the first information about the Grand Empire of Cathay, one of the factions that we will be able to lead in the game. Not only the strong aspects of the Dragon army were presented, but also some of its units, including Jade Warriors, the elite Celestial Dragon Guard, Terracotta Sentinels and the Jade Longma Riders. You can check out the video below.
Cathay's tactics are described by the game's creators as "a harmony of stone and steel", and are meant to be a combination of drive and willpower. In other words, the armies of the Dragon Emperor will be characterized by a strong defensive - their goal is to hold their ground, and defeat the enemy with determined defenses and superior firepower. The players' task is to make sure that the army works as a single being, as efficient as possible. Maintaining harmony on the battlefield is to be rewarded with additional bonuses.
The aforementioned units will be commanded by powerful beings. So far, we have met two of them: Miao Ying, the Storm Dragon, who rules the northern part of Katai and leads the armies of the Great Bastion, and Zhao Ming, the Iron Dragon, a seasoned warrior who maintains discipline among the desert clans and guards the security of the empire's western borders.
Developers from Creative Assembly promised to reveal more information about the Grand Empire of Cathay "soon". They are bound to make it before the release of the third Total War: Warhammer ,since it was delayed to the beginning of 2022. The game will be released exclusively on PC.
