Survey Names Ubisoft the Most Hated Game Publisher in the World

It seems that Ubisoft is the most hated publisher in the world. Such conclusions can be drawn from research based on the opinions of Twitter users.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Rave Reviews conducted a survey to determine which video game companies are most hated by the community;
  • The leader of the ranking was Ubisoft;
  • Also Capcom, Konami, Game Freak and Relic Entertainment are highly disliked.

We often hear complaints about specific publishers or development studios that, in one way or another, disappoint the players. Until now, however, we didn't know which of the big companies operating in the digital entertainment market can "boast" the largest number of negative reviews. Thanks to the latest research, we can finally learn the truth.

Rave Reviews is responsible for research pieces on the video game industry. The journalists who run the website chose leading companies in the industry, suggesting how often people searched for information about them on Google. Then using SentiStrength software, they analyzed tweets about them and determined which of the companies was criticized the most.

It turns out that the undisputed leader in the field of hate from gamers is Ubisoft. The French company clearly did not arouse the sympathy of the community with its publishing policy. Currently, it dominates, in terms of dislike, in twenty-three countries. Particularly many negative feelings come from Europe, including its native France.

The second place on the podium was taken by Capcom. Publisher of well-known brands such as Resident Evil and Street Fighter, alienated the earned the scorn of players in nine countries. Among them we can distinguish Japan, India and Hong Kong. In Europe, Finns seems to be having a particular dislike for the company.

There are also a few surprises on the list. For some reason, some countries hate Relic Entertainment. It's hard to say what the Canadian studio has done to earn the hatred of the people of Kenya, Uganda and China, as this is the company that "enjoys" the most dislike in the aforementioned countries.

Rave Reviews examined not only the digital entertainment industry. The website also decided to check which of the major technology corporations is most criticized in the world. There shouldn't be any surprises in this regard. The podium was taken by Microsoft, Facebook and Google. In the ranking there is also a place for Amazon, which is hated by people from six countries. This is not a bad result for a company that operates in only eighteen countries around the world.

An interesting fact is the strong position of Game Freak in the research conducted by Rave Reviews. This studio is mainly responsible for subsequent games in the Pokemon series. It was absolutely abhorred by the inhabitants of Canada, USA, Great Britain and Australia. In the first of these countries, not a single positive opinion about the developer was found.

This is what a ranking of hatred towards companies associated with the video game industry looks like. Of course, it is difficult to consider this as a perfect source of information, because Rave Reviews research missed many countries in Africa, Asia and some of the countries of South and Central America. However, it certainly gives some insight into the moods of gamers in various parts of the world.
